If you know a bit about Artunio, you can see that it is a big project and in order to become a reality it
needs a lot of hard work, resources, dedication, true passion and a big team. Dedication, passion, and small team are already in place, but developing the whole software, securing all law documentation, providing Artunio in several languages and countries is a lot more than we can handle with our current options.
That is why we decided to create Artunio together with artists and creators through our Indiegogo campaign. For further understanding, I will break down the pricing, stretch goals and more important information in detail.
Many people might ask this obvious question. Why don’t you approach venture capital or investors
with your project? Well, as a team that already has experience in this area, we think that investments could be great for the beginning of the project. However, after a while, the shareholders would want big profits from this project and we could end up having investors’ interests as a priority.
Therefore, we would be trying to squeeze more money from artists and the overall platform than necessary. It already happened with other platforms and here is a good explanatory video about this topic.
Basically, investors invest in projects that will bring them profits and they very often push the owners of the platforms to prioritize profit over users. We understand and respect that. But still, we don’t want to do that, because that would be contradictory to what we believe in and therefore we want to stay independent as long as possible.
With an independent project, we could deliver through our decisions more freedom to the artists
and creators on the platform. In the end, it is created for artists, creators and their audiences and there are many ways to keep the project sustainable without external financing after the campaign.
Indiegogo campaign and stretch goals
One of the best possible options to secure funds for the project is a crowdfunding campaign on
Indiegogo. While it provides enough funding for the whole project, it also keeps the project connected with artists from the beginning by giving them an option to be a part of designing, testing and building
process of Artunio.
Developing Artunio is a lot more expensive than you though, right? You can see the breakdown of the project in the chart bellow:
At the moment, the breakdown is focused only on the social network and job finder functionalities.
That means that if we hit the goal of $200,000, we will have just enough resources to finish the social
network, Artunio Artist Profile and Artunio Job Finder as the core job searching functionalities.
Since we already have a functioning prototype of the network – Artunio Space.
The network should be completed in just about 6 months after a successful campaign. It would take some time, but we want to make sure the platform is in a great shape. Our backers will be able to test and use the platform before the release. This is a “fixed funding” campaign, meaning that if we don’t meet our goal, all contributions will be refunded: since we can’t complete Artunio without the full amount, there’s no point in keeping the money if we don’t reach it.
While $200,000 is the main goal, stretch goals are basically all the other functionalities:
1. Artunio Gallery
2. Artunio Learning
3. Artunio Event Manager
4. Artunio Audience
All those stretch goals could be finished only if we raise enough resources. Here are the stretch goals:
If you are reading about those functionalities for the first time and don’t know what they are about,
go and read – How can artists create income with Artunio? – for all Artunio income sources related
information and – Instagram and social media are not suited artists – for the social network part.
After successfully reaching the main goal, we will deliver the social network and job finder functionalities in six months.
All the other reached stretch goals would add another 2 – 3 extra months for the features’ release.
The final version with all stretch goals would thus take around 18 months to complete.
The functionalities would be added one by one. The main goal would be thus finished in 6 months
the next stretch goal in 8, the next in 10 months and so on.
Since most of our Indiegogo Perks are subscriptions for several months, the subscription would start
counting the first month after the release of social network and job finder functionalities.
The subscription would therefore start after delivering the main goal: Artunio Space + Job Finder.
To find out more about Indiegogo Perks, visit – What perks have we prepared? Our ultimate goal is to create Artunio for all artists around the world.
Since this task will take more than 18 months to complete, we will start with Europe, Australia, South and North America, selected countries in Asia and we would later spread to all corners of the world.
This is mainly due to law and language differences across multiple countries and it would not be
possible to finish it within the first 18 months.
The perks are therefore available for purchase only in those areas, but even artists and creators from
other countries would be able to register and use the platform after the initial release. The platform
will be available only in English language for the first few months.

One of the Artunio goals is to create a digital environment where artists would have better financial conditions. This can be achieved by increasing already existing income sources, creating new ones, introducing helpful technology to artists in parts of the world where they are scarce and helping artists with audience building.
Artunio is created for artists, audiences and everyone working in the cultural and creative industry. The platform serves anyone ranging from performers, creators, managers to even patrons either as individuals or organizations.
Pin your event on the Artunio map and let people in the vicinity of that location be notified that there is an event they might be interested in and directly buy tickets. Reach people interested in this type of events from greater distances.
While galleries are still one of the best options, their vulnerability was shown during the pandemic with artists looking for alternative ways to show their art to collectors. Artunio Gallery is meant to connect artists, galleries, and collectors around the world.
Stop using your social media account as your main portfolio. It makes your work look cheaper, unprofessional, it does not show your real qualities and your follower count may even discourage others to work with you.
